Non-EVM Networks Generate Addresses Differently

Unlike Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Tron, XRP, and Cosmos-based blockchains generate addresses in their own way, which is independent from Ethereum's way. A Bitcoin address starts with 1, 3, or bc1; a Solana address is a base58 string without 0x prefix; a Tron address starts with a T.

Because these formats are generated via different cryptography, the same seed phrase produces unrelated addresses on these networks. Sending an EVM-based token to what seems like a valid address in a non-EVM network, or vice versa, means that the transaction cannot be reversed back. In most of these cases, the transaction either fails outright at the wallet or exchange level, or the coins arrive somewhere no private key can unlock.

If tokens have been transferred to a smart contract address on the blockchain where that particular contract has never been deployed, then there is no code at that address on the destination blockchain at all. In other words, tokens simply end up somewhere with no logic capable of processing them. This situation is rather hard to deal with, since it doesn't matter if you have a private key. The only thing that counts is whether the exchange or the protocol that has created that smart contract has a way to withdraw the tokens.

The only sources of legitimate help are the official support of your wallet or exchange support in case of an exchange deposit.
